  2. Gra Keane says:

Could you please send me the link/information on coaches from Malaga to Marbella on a daily basis.

    Thank you

    • TravelGuy says:

It’s in Spanish but if you use the search facility on the Portillo website you can see the times of the buses. Select “Malaga aeropuerto” in the origen drop down and “Marbella” in the destino drop down.

  3. Anne says:

What is the best way to get to Estepona? train or bus? what is the schedule ? thanks

    • TravelGuy says:

There is no train station in Estepona so you’d have to either get the bus, a taxi or a private transfer. See the link in the previous comment for bus timetables.

What’s the cheapest option for a return coach/train to Gibraltar or la linea from Malaga airport? How many run per day and how often? Is there a link I can go to? Many thanks

  5. Abi says:

I’d like to get to Ronda from Malaga airport. What’s the best way to do that?

    • TravelGuy says:

Abi, I would suggest you get the bus from the airport to Marbella, which runs quite regularly, and then get the bus from Marbella bus station to Ronda. Alternatively you could book a private transfer which isn’t as expensive as you would think.

  6. Tony says:

I’d like to get from Malaga airport to Granada. Can this be done by train or by bus? On the ALSA web site, it shows Malaga, not Malaga airport.

    • TravelGuy says:

A direct bus from the airport to Malaga is only available at 11:30 and 18:30. Between these times there is a bus every hour from Malaga central bus station, so you may have to get a bus to Malaga first and then get the bus to Granada from there.

      • Tony says:

        thank you

        • Tony says:

Sorry, or EMT Malaga regular bus services between Malaga Airport and Malaga City. Presume that goes into the bus station.

      • Tony says:

Hello again. I’ve looked at the web site again. What other options are there to get from Malaga airport to Granada? I arrive at 12.10 pm. Would it be worth looking at a train from the airport to Malaga city, then from there to Malaga bus station (taxi perhaps?), then a bus from Malaga bus station to Granada. Return journey needs to get me back to Malaga airport to check in for a 12.55 flight.

What is the best way to get to airport from Holiday Inn Express Malaga Airport? (my flight’s departure time is at 7:00am)
by taxi or bus? and how much will the fee charge?
or I can walk to airport, how long will it take?

    • TravelGuy says:

You can get the number 19 bus from the bus stop near the hotel. It takes just 2-3 minutes to get to the terminal. Best to check at the hotel regarding bus times but I believe it’s quite regular.

  8. Laura says:

What is the best way to get to Granada from Malaga airport? Can I buy bus/train tickets at the airport?

    • TravelGuy says:

There are no trains but you can get a bus. From the airport itself there is one at 11:30 and another at 18:30. Journey is about 2 hours. Alternatively, you can get a bus to Malaga central bus station where there are buses to Granada every hour from 07:00 to 21:00. You can buy the tickets on the bus or in advance at

  9. Denise Green says:

Can I get a train or bus from Malaga airport to Nerja.

  10. Sue Henderson says:

Five of us will be arriving in the middle of November and staying at the Atarazanas Boutique Hotel – please can you tell me which is closer to the hotel, the bus or the train (one of the party cannot walk too far)
    Thank you

    • TravelGuy says:

There’s not much in it. The train station and bus station are both just about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
