There are several car parks available at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport that are used for collecting passengers, as there is no officially designated pick-up area. Of the six parking areas for visitors and passengers, three are better suited for airport pick-ups. These include the General Parking area in P1 (short to medium stay parking), Express Parking in P2 and VIP Parking, which is available in Terminal T3. The Express zone is also used as the drop-off area. We have put together some handy information on each of these car parks…
General Parking – P1
The General Parking area in P1 is the cheapest paid option. However, the car park itself is a little bit further away from the airport. It can take up to 10 minutes to walk from P1 to the Departures and Arrivals areas, meaning you may have to pay more if you are parked there for longer. There are plenty of places to park here, with 1,471 spaces available – and 47 of these are reserved for disabled passengers.
Express Parking – P2
If you are just making a quick trip, the Express Parking area in P2 is ideal. As a strictly short-term car park, this area is designed for a 30-minute maximum stay. If you need to stay longer, you will of course have to pay more. However, the first 15 minutes are free of charge – perfect if your friends and family have collected their luggage and have already made their way to the car park.
The Express Parking area is also used for dropping off passengers at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, as the 15-minute limit makes it a convenient place for a quick stop. The entrance to the car park can get a little bit busy as it is used for both pick-ups and drop-offs, but it is still an easy place to access with ample parking available. The car park is situated opposite the Terminal T2 Departures area and has access to Terminal T3.
To enter the Express Parking area, you will need to get a ticket from the barrier at the upper Departures area. Continue following the lane and you will be able to access the Express Parking. Remember that, as long as you stay in P2 for less than 15 minutes, you will be able to leave free of charge. If you stay longer, you will need to validate your ticket at the machines before you leave.
VIP Parking – T3
If you have a bit of time to spend while waiting to pick up your friends and family, you could take a look at the VIP car park near T3. The cost for longer stays is more expensive than the General Parking or Express Parking areas, but there are also extra benefits to take advantage of. If you leave your car here, you can collect it on returning from the Arrivals area. You can also arrange for car valeting, vehicle maintenance, car washing and other services.
