Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport passenger figures were up for Easter Week (Semana Santa) 2018, with increased growth compared with last year. AENA reported nearly 1.3 million visitors in March, making Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport the third busiest airport in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona.
With 9,942 flights landing and taking off during March, figures were up by almost nine per cent, following the introduction of new international routes. For the first quarter over three million passengers passed through the airport. The pinnacle was 31 March when, with 449 landings and take-offs, traveller numbers reached 60,791 on this day alone.
The Costal del Sol is one of the top Mediterranean holiday spots in southern Europe and, with improvements planned for Terminal 2 starting soon, the number of visitors to the area is set to increase further.
Plan ahead if you need car hire by booking early and avoiding disappointment.
